Happy Valentine’s Day!
Yes, we do celebrate Valentine’s Day here at RVA! The sophomore class has been busy for the last few weeks collecting candy, baking, creating cards, advertising, selling, and delivering all these gifts of love from parents, teachers, mentors, and friends. Thanks to all of you who contributed and helped in any way!
We don’t normally celebrate Valentine’s Day, but we are so grateful for the opportunity to send our kids a special box of candy, a home-baked cupcake, flowers, and a note of encouragement that lets them know how much we love them! Thank you, Sophomore class!

Family Focus
- We praise God for his faithfulness and bringing us halfway through the term.
- Thank the Lord for a reprieve from the unusual rainy season we’ve had in East Africa.
- Pray for those in Northern Kenya who are dealing with locusts – after enduring a severe drought. Pray that there would be no further spread of the locusts across East Africa.
- Pray for those who recently lost their jobs at Kijabe Hospital. Here a job loss can be devastating.
- Lilli’s Kenyan coworker in Student Health just underwent emergency surgery and is now recovering. Pray for health and also that God would use this time to help her see more of Him.
- Our family is doing well. Pray for Hannah as she finishes Bethel University this Spring and Tiana as she prepares for a 16 month internship in Southeast Asia beginning in September. We can’t wait to be together for a short time in August!
- The message of God’s love for us in the gospel never gets old! Never! Pray that we would communicate it effectively to our RVA and Kijabe communities in both word and life.
