Christmas in November
Fun Fact
Celebrating our Savior’s birth comes early at RVA. Last Sunday we started singing Christmas songs and we studied Mary the mother of Jesus during the message. Later that night was the band and choir concert, which always includes a Christmas theme. You can enjoy it here.
Family Focus
- There’s a lot going on at RVA right now and students and staff seem weary. Last weekend was Pinewood Derby and band/choir concert. This weekend is drama performances and Baptism Sunday. Next week is final exams and we finish up classes before departure day on Saturday.
- Our family is doing pretty well. Sophie finished her basketball season in second place in their league. Josh is learning to manage his time with a heavy homework load this year.
- Hannah is busy with her elementary education studies and Henrik is loving his campus outreach ministry developing many relationships with international students.
- Tiana, Hannah & Henrik will drive to Iowa for Thanksgiving to be with Jonathan’s mom, Sue. Much of her time has been devoted to making decisions about running the farm. She continues to adjust to life without Gene.
- Lilli’s parents and brother just came back from a 3-week trip to Madagascar, where they were able to attend the 40 year anniversary celebration of SALFA (health department of the Malagasy Lutheran Church).
Happy holidays to all you Leslies! Thanksgiving Day is coming quickly. Tomorrow Stacy and I will be helping the 4 youngest DeC’s in filling their shoeboxes to bring on Sunday. Then I’m helping Stacy in her preps for their annual DeCaro Open House which I suspect you remember. And then the Christmas Season starts. I am reminded of you all during these special family times being so far from your loved ones. My prayer is that you will be blessed in new ways as you continue to serve our Savior in your part of this world. “Joy to the WORLD, the Lord has come!” Love, Mrs. A.
