“Fun” Fact Friday!

Welcome back to Fun Fact Friday! Where have you been? Oh wait! Our bad. So sorry it’s been so loooong! We’ve simplified things a bit – our “fun fact” will hopefully be a bit more focused on the “fun” than the “fact”.

Fun Facts

  1. In Switzerland it is illegal to own just one guinea pig! Because guinea pigs are social animals they are considered victims of abuse if alone.
  2. Nollywood in Nigeria produces about 50 movies each week.

We are back in the full swing of things at RVA. Week three comes to a close today. Summer has arrived in the Southern Hemisphere and with it warmer, drier weather. Jonathan has really enjoyed his two classes of 11th grade Bible. The initial couple weeks were a bit rough as it took several hours each day to prepare, but he finds it a little easier now. He’s so thankful for the opportunity to get to know these students on a deeper level and to be able to teach them amazing things about God and his Word! On Sundays he has been preaching a series on “Ordinary People and their Extraordinary God”. Last week we saw how God used an unlikely woman, Deborah, in his plan to rescue his people from their enemies.

Lilli is enjoying her work in Student Health. They are short-staffed this year but are managing just fine. By God’s grace there haven’t been any major sicknesses go through campus – just colds!

Josh and Sophie are doing well. Sophie was pleasantly surprised to make the Varsity basketball team as a freshman. It’s been another opportunity for her to grow in trusting the Lord and rest in what He says of her and not worry about what others might think. Josh isn’t in sports this term but continues to improve on the piano and spend time with friends.

Hannah started her last year at Bethel University and Henrik is serving with Campus Outreach at the University of MN. Tiana is in her sophomore year at Bethany Global University in Bloomington, MN.
