Piki Piki
Fact
A “piki piki”, or just “piki” is Swahili for motorcycle. Because it’s so much cheaper to buy and to drive, you see pikis everywhere in Kenya! Sometimes they actually carry people, which is called a Boda Boda (we’ll talk about that another time). But it seems most of the time they carry things such as wood, appliances, furniture like couches, mattresses, loads of water bottles, and basically anything else that should go in the back of a truck but just might fit on the back of a piki if you tie it down!
Family
- There are several groups of students that are experiencing a lot of stress and also a lot of fear taking place in the dorms. Pray for the peace of God to guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
- Juniors and Seniors will be leaving next Thursday for locations all over East Africa for Interim. Pray for safety as they travel, opportunities to share the gospel in word and deed, and to draw close to each other during this time.
- Pray for our son-in-law, Henrik, who is going on a ten day mission trip to the Middle East – and for Hannah while he is gone.
- Pray for unity on our campus among both staff and students.
Always great to hear from you! Thank you for the prayer requests. Greetings with hugs for Lily, Sophi and Josh.
Big changes coming to Oakridge with Jim’s retirement. Please pray for humility and wisdom for the entire congregation.
Your loving sister in Christ,
Wendy
Thanks for the note, Wendy! Yes, we will be praying for our precious body of Christ in Stillwater during this transition. May Jesus be your focus and your delight. Grateful for you!
