End of Term

Hope you all had a grace-filled Thanksgiving! We have so much to be thankful for. Our celebration will be Saturday with three other families – complete with Turkey, potatoes, stuffing, green been casserole and of course, pie!

Today was the last day of the RVA school term. Students attended each of their classes for 25 minutes, then a short flag raising outside, and finally the 10 second countdown and ringing of the bell that announces the end of term! In a few minutes I’ll begin driving some students into Nairobi to the airport for travel back to their families while Lilli heads to one of the dorms for dorm inspection. Yesterday afternoon they had to thoroughly clean all the dorms in preparation for today’s inspection. I’m sure Lilli will be gracious!

As the students head out, about 300 AIM missionaries arrive on campus for our annual AIM Spiritual Conference which begins Saturday evening and runs through Wednesday. No chance for rest yet, but it’s always good to meet and get to know other missionaries who are serving in various roles in Kenya.

After Wednesday we plan to stay around RVA for most of the break. We are very excited to have Tiana here for three weeks beginning December 17. As always, we remain thankful to God for each of you. Thanks for encouraging us, praying for us, caring for our kids, and supporting us financially. We love you!

Prayer
  • Thank God for a successful farm auction for Jonathan’s family! Dad was able to be there and see lots of people as well as answer questions about the equipment. If you missed his blog post you can read it here.
  • Once again pray for sweet times and safe travel for all the families heading out of Kijabe this weekend.
  • We are thankful that Hannah, Henrik, and Tiana are able to spend time with both our families over the next few days. May the Lord guide their journey.
  • Pray for the AIM Spiritual Conference over the next few days. We have missionaries who live in difficult areas and come physically, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted. Pray they could leave refreshed and encouraged through the speaker, workshops, prayer times, and the fellowship of the community here.
