Baptism Sunday
Fact
Toward the end of both first and third terms we have a baptism service at RVA to give our students an opportunity to follow Jesus’ command to be baptized and testify of the grace of God in Christ who called them to Himself by faith. It is without a doubt my favorite service of the year. This term we had the privilege of having sixteen students baptized! Sixteen mini-sermons that proclaimed the grace and glory of the gospel in these young transformed lives!
Family
- We are still praying for Jonathan’s Dad to regain enough strength to travel back home to Iowa (from Arizona) and even to attend Hannah’s wedding in Minnesota.
- Pray for all the transition happening over the next month. We have many staff who are leaving for good, preparing for a different ministry, or going on home assignment. Couples who have been here since we were here in 1997 are preparing for a life-change. Of course our senior class (including Tiana) is graduating and scattering all over the world. Many tearful goodbyes, uncertain futures, and change lie ahead for them. Pray they would find our unchanging God to be their Rock.
- Speaking of seniors, the whole class leaves for Senior Safo tomorrow – time for bonding and goodbyes on the beach in Mombasa. They have been raising money for this trip since ninth grade.
- 8th Grade Celebration is Saturday evening. This is a special event celebrating the end of Jr. High which was organized and planned by the students – with some help from us sponsors. Students will come dressed up, have a nice meal and enjoy entertainment put on by the class.
- Our family leaves for the US on July 17. We hope to see you, if only for a short while.
