Variety Night
Fact
Variety Night is one of our weekend activities that we have 2-3 times each term. Staff members sign up to offer a variety of activities for the students to choose from. They might include table games, a 3-on-3 volleyball or basketball tournament in the gym, ultimate Frisbee under the field lights, a classic video in a staff home or a karaoke night in the Student Center. Toward the end of the term the eleventh and twelfth graders really love a simple “Coffee & Chill” option!
Tomorrow evening the sophomore class puts on their Sophomore Restaurant. This is a fundraising opportunity for the sophomore class where they pick a theme for the evening and plan a menu around it. This year’s theme is Around the World. The students take reservations and serve a sit-down dinner to the paying guests consisting of both staff, students and parents living nearby.
Family
- We are thankful for the ways God is moving in the hearts of our students. Several have responded to Jonathan’s message on baptism last Sunday by indicating a desire to identify with Jesus’ life, death and resurrection in baptism themselves
- Continue to pray for Jonathan’s dad who is now going through rehab for his knee. They are usually back on the farm in Iowa by March, but it looks like it could be June by the time they are able to leave Arizona
- We realize we bring up the weather quite often – too dry, too wet – but when so much livelihood is dependent on the land, it’s a big deal. We have rain pretty much every day – some days a lot. It came down at a rate of 4 inches per hour on Wednesday. All this water is really beginning to cause problems – roads becoming impassible, mudslides, loss of crops or livestock, as well as causing damage to homes, churches and businesses. Pray for a reprieve.
- Pray for our seniors who will be graduating soon – that they would finish well at RVA and be a good example to upcoming classes
- Staffing needs for next year: do you know of a Biblical counselor or physical therapist that would want to serve missionary kids for a year? Let us know!
