Presidential Election Rerun

Today the Kenyan Supreme Court declared the results of last month’s election invalid. This means we’re back to square one with a return to campaigning over the next couple months until the new election on November 1. So far things are relatively quiet, but we have to be very careful traveling to Nairobi as demonstrations can turn violent. I’ve talked with three Kenyan friends from the Kikuyu tribe (same as the current President and the predominant tribe around Kijabe) and they don’t seem to be concerned, “We’ll vote again and our President will win again.” Please continue to pray for minimal violence, that problems from the last election would be resolved and that Kenyans would be wise with their vote.

Otherwise the term is off to a great start. Our campus went from a little over 100 people a week ago to over 600 now, not counting about 200 national staff. Needless to say, we’re off and running! We covet your prayers and support!
