Pray!

Greetings dear supporters! We trust this update finds you well, if not a little…fuller…after Thanksgiving. Lilli and I had the opportunity to Skype with the superintendent of Rift Valley Academy a couple days ago (he and his wife are currently in the States for term break). They are eagerly anticipating our arrival. Not that we’re anything special, but the roles we will be serving in are important to the school functioning as it should. He mentioned that the nurses Lilli will be serving with are a little anxious as there currently aren’t any options to cover for her if we don’t make it by second term.

We are now just a little over five days from our financial clearance date of December 7. According to my records, today we are at about 89% of our monthly giving target. First of all, I just have to stand back and thank God for His kindness and faithfulness. That’s an amazing amount! It’s also the result of so many of your prayers and of your support for this ministry to families on the mission field. Thank you!

But it’s not yet at 100%, which means there are yet opportunities to see God at work to bring in the remaining amount in these last few days. We want this to be God’s timing, not ours. But we also know that God brings about His will through the prayers of His people. We don’t want to miss serving another term at RVA because we neglected to come to the Throne of Grace and plead for Him to do the humanly impossible so He may be praised as the Gracious Giver that He is. Ultimately, this is not about the Leslie family getting to Kenya, but about God and His work through Christ among the unreached and those serving them.

Therefore, we are asking if you would join our family in praying (and possibly fasting) with us tomorrow, Friday, December 2? If you have the ability to skip a meal or two or perhaps an hour of television or Facebook or whatever in order to spend some time pleading with the Lord for the peoples of Africa to know and trust Jesus Christ and if He would be pleased to accomplish what is needed to send us to Africa by the end of December – we would be so grateful!

I know most of us don’t like to make comments on websites, but it would be a tremendous encouragement to all of us if we know we are praying together. So leave a comment on this post on our website, or Facebook, or send a note by email and perhaps share how the Lord encouraged your own heart in prayer. Thank you! Let’s see what God may do!

  1. I’ll go first to get this started. Father, may you bless your people as we put aside lesser things in order to spend time with You, the Fountain of all joy!

“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” (Psalms 16:11)

  2. Praying with you! Lord, you are the great provider and we pray for the release of funds for the Leslie family so that Your work may be done. In Jesus’ name.
